If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that Grey and I value healthy food and make an effort to incorporate it into our diet as much as we can…but there is definitely room for improvement! Since Greyson has been born, it seems even more important to educate ourselves on making the best food choices–and to put it into action.
Within the last few months Grey and I have jumped in with both feet, and have been reading, watching, and listening to educated doctors and nutritionists’ findings on the value of incorporating more nutrient rich food into our diet. We want to make sure we are getting our little guy off on the right foot in life, so we have shifted our eating style slightly to incorporate more plant-based food (and less animal products) into our recipes. We have known for a long time now the importance of eating vegetables, but never understood the effect of consuming the vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals that are in fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and mushrooms have on disease prevention and longevity.
We strongly believe that taking control and maintaining our health by consuming the foods that God designed us to, is one of the simplest acts of love we can give to family and friends. We hope you enjoy these new, and improved (plant powered) recipes friends.
