Garden, Grapes, and Grooves: The First Family Outing.

On Saturday, Grey, Greyson, and I went for our first family outing: Garden, Grapes, and Grooves down at Julia’s fruit stand in Los Molinos, California. I’ve been so excited about this event since I saw it advertised sometime last month.

Heirloom tomato tasting? I was definitely in. …and wine tasting? I would be in…if we weren’t breastfeeding. 😉

Since Greyson has been born, we’ve only gone out into to town for Dr.’s appointments, grocery shopping, errands, and coffee runs ;). This was, however, the first time we went out as a family—just to go out  and have a good time together.

Once we got to Julia’s Fruit Stand, I thought “maybe eight days old is too soon for our our first family outing?” When I saw this:SONY DSCI knew the timing was just right. Grey held him close while I wandered to take pictures of the beautiful flowers…SONY DSCSONY DSC

It was a warm day, so we didn’t want to stay too long, but before we left we just had to check out the fruits and vegetables at the stand.SONY DSCThere were tomatoes, strawberries, peaches, watermelon, berries and all kinds of summer produce.SONY DSCSONY DSC We bought some awesome looking tomatoes (that we planned on eating with grilled turkey burgers later in the week,” and peaches.

When we got home, we couldn’t wait to try some of the goodies we bought…SONY DSC…So I laid Greyson down for a nap while Grey and I sat at our kitchen table with a plate, knife, fork, salt, pepper, and a big ‘ol heirloom tomato. This should be the definition of summer…well in my opinion.

Enjoy summer while it lasts. 🙂

 Love, Brianna
