This smoothie could seriously pass for a dessert, but we eat it for breakfast. The first time we made one was last year, we both tasted it one morning, and our eyes widened with the same “this is really good” expression. It’s like we instantly knew that this was going to be one of the recipes we make again and again.
Unintentionally, this smoothie is completely vegan. I like to add flax or chia seeds to boost the nutritional value…since it is for breakfast after all. This time, we used vanilla hemp milk, but almond or soy milk could totally be used instead.
I have to be honest, we’ve been on one of those “like-something-so-we-eat-it-until-we’re-sick-of-it-marathons” with these smoothies. It has literally been almost two weeks, and we’ve each had one everyday! We’ll have our cherries eaten up in no time! 😦 Enjoy this recipe, and have a good summer!
Cherry Coconut Banana Smoothie
Serves: 1 – Prep time: 5 min. – Cook time: 0 minutes
1 cup vanilla hempmilk
1 cup frozen cherries
1 ripe banana
¼ cup coconut
1 tablespoon of flaxseeds
Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
