Kitchen Staples

Welcome to our kitchen! There are some items in every kitchen that are just part of it. They are used so much, they become permanent* fixtures. Just as permanent as the counters, sink, dish towels, etc. They are the staples that hold the room together, here’s a list of ours (in no particular order, besides the order I thought of them!):

Steel Cut oats

Quinoa

Brown rice

Ketchup

Mustard

Tomato Paste

Tomato Sauce

Whole Peeled Tomatoes

Chicken Broth

Beef Bouillon

Bread Crumbs

Fresh Parmesan Cheese

Salt

Pepper

Garlic Powder

Ground Cinnamon

Ground Allspice

Dried Red Pepper Flakes

Brown Sugar

Montreal Steak Seasoning

Montreal Chicken Seasoning

Baking Powder

Baking Soda

Whole-Wheat Flour

Olive Oil

*We make an effort to keep these items in the house at all times, and replenish as needed.

Then there are those items that come and go every week. These items are replaced on a weekly basis…I’ll call ’em the semi-staples**:

Bananas***

Milk

Peanut Butter

Apples

Pro-Bars

Lara Bars

Chicken

Beef

Greens (mixed, spinach, etc.)

Carrots

Red or White Wine

Nuts

Tomatoes

Onions

Garlic

Mushrooms

Eggs

Avocado

Dried Fruit

Almond Milk

Frozen Blueberries

Hummus (on treat weeks!)

**Semi-staples vary a bit from week to week.

***This list reflects that we only eat bananas and apples. We do buy other fruit when it is in season, or on sale. We just usually always have apples and bananas in the kitchen.

Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our cupboards, what are some of your “must-haves?”

Wishing your day is “stocked-up” with goodies.
